Dover is a small city located in Tuscarawas County. A former canal stop, Dover is located along the Tuscarawas River. The city runs into New Philadelphia to the south, which is considered it’s twin city and school sports rival.

Even more entertainment is a short drive from Dover. There’s everything from golf courses and wineries. Residents can take a quick trip to Amish Country for shopping, food, and Amish culture. The surrounding area is rich with history, with many memorials, museums, and reenactments for families to visit.
Trips to larger cities are easy because several major roads run through or near Dover. Canton, Akron, Wooster, Cleveland, Columbus, and Pittsburgh are all about 100 miles or less from Dover.

Adults and high schoolers can attend Buckeye Career Center in New Philadelphia for career training. The only higher education option in the county is Kent State University at Tuscarawas. Other college options are available in surrounding counties.
Dover is home to Union Hospital. Other medical facilities are nearby. Larger hospitals are a short drive away in Canton and Akron.
